Mining, Construction, Safety and Industrial Products.
Since Western Equipment's beginnings
back in 1947 with a small store in Victoria, change and growth
have been the main-stay, and the challenge for this company
and it's employees. Currently operating out of eight branches
in British Columbia, Canada, our company is a major supplier
and consultant to this province's resource based industries.
We can also boast that no other industrial distributor in
BC has the depth and diversity of products to offer their
customers. With a full service rigging shop in all branches,
we offer custom made wire rope cable and chain assemblies
made on site.
The past fifty years have seen
a lot of changes on the face of industry in BC. With the trend
towards single sourcing initiatives amongst the larger to
medium sized companies, Western Equipment is well positioned
to pursue and succeed in this continually changing business
environment. We believe the future looks very bright for our
company!

Brief History of Western Equipment Ltd. |
| Western
Equipment was started in 1947 by Frank Morriss, Horace Plimley,
and Percy Plimley. The company began operations from a store
on Yates Street in Victoria. After two years, success in selling
power transmission accessories to the forest industry prompted
the move to a new location on Government Street and subsequently
to a new headquarters on Main Street in Vancouver.
Customer response was tremendous,
and our reputation for quality products and good service quickly
grew making it possible to open up branches in Mesachie Lake,
Campbell River, Terrace and Prince George. In 2004, Western
moved into a new headquarters in Surrey.
Acquisitions of Chinook Wire
Rope, and River Industries in the early 1990's further fueled
Western's fast paced expansion into Vernon.
